The Hutt Fleet

Some old interior illustrations from Star Wars: Essential Guide to Warfare depicting events and stories from the Star Wars Expanded Universe timeline (now called Legends).

The Hutts now maintain fleets of warships, shifting their philosophy of economic dominance to a more military one, ever since their Empire was almost destroyed by the Yuuzhan Vong invasions.

I was given the honor of designing the various Hutt ships from scratch based on relatively vague descriptions from the novels. You can see 4 classes of warships in here; frigate, destroyer, transport/carrier and battle-cruiser and all of them have the distinctive red sails, which I took inspiration form Jabba's Sail Barge. Admiring his fleet is a Hutt commander and his cronies.
